advice of the month
A word from marine biologist, Lieven Houthoofd
Besides enjoying a summer swim during the warmer months, swimming ponds are certainly at their best during the winter season. Thick layers of snow cover the plant filters and the frozen water. To save energy, water and aeration pumps may eventually be switched off. By shutting off the water flow, you can enjoy one of the unique properties of a frozen swimming pool: skating in your own garden! Make sure that the ice is thick enough (at least 12cm)! Enjoy the winter fun!
